Once an extension request is filed, the foreigner may keep working after the permit expires until the decision comes — for no more than ninety days, and only in the same job at the same workplace. That period counts as legal employment.
The final list depends on permit type, sector and nationality. These are the items requested most often.
No. For anyone other than refugees and holders of subsidiary protection, a residence permit alone grants no right to work. You need a separate work permit or exemption before you start.
Administrative fines are imposed on both the foreigner found working without a permit and the employer. The foreigner is also reported to the Ministry of Interior for deportation. The risk is not yours alone — your employer carries it too.
Some professions are reserved by law for Turkish citizens and no work permit can be issued for them. The best known: law, notary services, judgeship and prosecution, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, nursing aide work, certified accountancy, tourist guiding, private security, customs brokerage assistance and mediation. The list is longer; we check your profession before opening a file.
The decision is served on you or your employer. You have thirty days from notification to appeal through the system; if the appeal is refused, administrative court is open. You may also reapply once the deficiency behind the refusal has been fixed.
Yes. Once an extension has been filed, you may continue working after the permit expires until the decision arrives — for no more than ninety days, and only if the job and the workplace stay the same. That period counts as legal employment.
Yes. Applications can be made for elderly, disabled or child care and for patient companionship, and the five-Turkish-citizen criterion does not apply to these files. The employer is the person needing care, or a first-degree relative if they cannot apply themselves; the workplace record opens with that person's details and e-signature. Proof of the relationship and the cared-for person's ID copy go into the file, and the care address is entered as the work address.

To apply from inside Türkiye you need a residence permit of at least six months that is valid on the application date. Otherwise the route is a consulate application from abroad.

No. The decision rests solely with the Ministry and is assessed against international labour force policy. Never work with a consultant who guarantees a result. What we commit to is a file built as closely to the criteria as possible.
